It has been a wonderful summer at Mountain High. As the concessionaire of many of local recreation areas, we would like to address feedback and provide updates on the activities & paid parking at Jackson Lake. We have been very active in improving the area this summer and have invested more than $20,000 to date. We are also offering new amenities such as first-aid certified staff, kayak & paddleboard rentals, fishing gear rentals, and retail.

Per our Concessionaire Campground and Day Use permit, Mountain High is required to implement its own parking. The Big Pines Parking Pass now replaces the Forest Service Adventure pass at all of our campgrounds, day-use sites, and trailheads (Vincent Gap & Inspiration Point). Pricing is similar at just $5 per day and $30 per season. Jackson Lake will have a $10 daily parking fee Friday-Sunday from 10am-5pm if guests do not have an annual Big Pines Pass. Big Pines Parking Passes may be purchased at Mountain High’s North Lodge or at Jackson Lake during operating hours. Please note, pre-purchased Forest Service Adventure Passes will still be honored at all Concessionaire operated Day Use sites, with the exception of Jackson Lake.

We appreciate your understanding and kind words about the improved conditions. We will continue to reinvest funds into the landscaping and janitorial services in these areas to provide you with the best summer experience possible.

Big Pines Passes will be required at:

  • Appletree Campground
  • Arch Picnic Area
  • Grassy Hollow Campground/Picnic Area
  • Inspiration Point Trailhead
  • Mescal Picnic Area
  • Northshore Fishing Site
  • Peavine Campground
  • Vincent Gap Trailhead
