Mountain High Resorts in Wrightwood is scheduled to reopen for skiing & snowboarding this Saturday, January 10th. Mountain High has been closed since December 23rd when the season’s largest storm drenched the Wrightwood area, causing flooding, power outages, and road damage.
Mountain High received 12” of rain in just 12 hours and 30” since November 1st.
Without hesitation, the resort’s Mountain Operations team jumped in action and have been working around the clock, 7 days a week, moving dirt and repairing facilities. Now, Hwy 2 is open, snowmaking has resumed, and Mountain High is ready to open Saturday morning at 8:30am.
Said Karl Kapuscinski, President and CEO, “Thank you to our incredible team. Without your dedication and hard work through the holidays, we wouldn’t have been able to open the resort. I would also like to thank Cal Trans both LA and San Bernardino Counties for their help putting things back together.”
When open, Mountain High will have up to 4 lifts accessing 8 trails of predominantly intermediate to beginner terrain. The coverage consists of a 12-16” base of fresh, machine-made snow. Night operations will be available 7 nights a week through January 19th from 5pm-10pm.
Ticket sales may be limited to reflect the available terrain. Guests are encouraged to purchase tickets early at https://shop.mthigh.com/lift-tickets for the best price.
Opening Day festivities on January 10th consist of music, drink specials, a scavenger hunt, and more. Guests can win snowboards, MH apparel, a 25/26 Cali Pass, and more. Season Pass holders receive increased discounts on food, retail, & buddy tickets, and free parking through January 16th.
For guests who just want to play in the snow, tubing, sledding, and snow play will be available at the Yeti’s Snow Play beginning next weekend, January 17th, from 10am-4pm. Please click here for pricing and details. https://www.mthigh.com/site/mountain/events-and-activities/yeti-snow-play
