The 1st Turn Learn To Ski & Ride Centers are the BEST way to learn to ski or snowboard in California. We are committed to providing top-quality instruction and an exceptional learning experience for all our participants. Our welcoming staff and flexible lesson programs make it fun, affordable, and convenient for you to start your skiing or snowboarding journey.
Our experience with thousands of experienced skiers and riders has taught us how important it is to take at least 3 Lessons if you want to become an all-mountain skier or snowboarder. That's why we offer our signature 3-Lesson Program.
3-Lesson Program
- Day 1: Beginner Terrain & Learning Area Lift Ticket. Days 2 & 3: All-Mountain Lift Ticket
- Ski rental equipment (Skis, Boots, Poles, and Helmet)
- 2-Hour First-Time Group Lesson with one of our professional instructors
Complete all 3 lessons and receive $99 LESSON PACKAGES (All-Mountain Lift Ticket, Rentals, 2-Hr Lesson) for the remainder of the season. You save $169 each time!
Important Details:
- Lessons are non-transferable and must be used by the same participant.
- All 3 lessons must be taken on three different days within the 2025/26 winter season.
- Each subsequent lesson must be reserved within 30 days of the previous lesson.
- Unused lessons expire at the end of the 2025/26 season.

Lesson Changes
All purchases are final. If you would like to reschedule, you can do so up to 3 days in advance in your Account page. All changes must take place during the season of purchase. There are no changes within 3 days of arrival date. Questions? Please email us at wsc_reservations@mthigh.com

Class Handling
- Classes are offered as a Morning (AM) and Afternoon (PM) Session. Lunch is not provided.
- For the best rate book a Full Day Package
- Tickets and rentals are valid for 8-Hours.
Helpful Hints For Group Lessons | What Level Am I?
Check-In
- The Winter Sports Center is open daily at the West Resort.
- Start at the Lesson Information Kiosk at the base of the 1st Turns Express Moving Carpet.
- All lesson rental vouchers and tickets will be picked up at the Lesson Center at the top of the 1st Turns Express & Bullwheel Restaurant. Have your confirmation email ready to show at the window.
- Next proceed to Rentals at the Children's Lesson Center to retrieve your boots, skis or snowboard, and helmet. Children 12 and under do not use poles during their lessons.
- After you receive your equipment, check in at the lesson meeting area table outside to activate your ticket and meet your instructor.
- Please arrive on time to your booked lesson. Classes start promptly at 10am and 1pm. Groups form 15 minutes before start time on-snow. If you arrive late for your lesson, we cannot guarantee you will be able to join your reserved session.
Parking
Parking is limited. Please consider arriving no later than 8am during the weekdays and 7:30 am on weekends/holidays to have a better chance of parking at the West Resort and avoid parking offsite.
