Snowmaking operations have officially begun at Mountain High Resort and the Wrightwood resort is making an attempt to open for the 2012/13 season.  The combination of cold temperatures and light natural snow make for perfect conditions and, if things go well, Mountain High could open as early as Sunday morning, November 11th.  If this occurs, Mountain High will be the first resort to open in Southern California for the 16th year in a row. 


Winter weather whooshes into Southern California this week and Mountain High Resort in Wrightwood plans to begin making snow tomorrow with hopes of opening as early as Sunday morning, November 11th.

Mountain High Resort in Wrightwood is embracing the change of seasons and the return of El Nino, a wet weather phenomenon that traditionally brings huge amounts of snow to the Southwest. stated in a recent article “Some wet, snowy weather for Southern California.  Following a major snow drought in California last year, some good news in store both for the water supply and for skiers in the Golden State.”  If this forecast holds true, Mountain High is poised for a terrific winter with another $1,000,000 in improvements including an enhanced family


Mountain High Resort is proud to announce the premiere of its first ever full-length snowboard movie titled, Los Angeles. This special engagement takes place on Friday, September 28, 2012 at the Downtown Independent Theater in Los Angeles with Think Thank’s Mind The Video Man. There will be showings at both 8pm & 10pm, and movie goers are encouraged to buy tickets ahead of time at as the venue will sell out.
