Wrightwood, CA – November 4, 2011:  The regions first winter storm hit local mountains hard dropping 4 to 5 inches of new snow. Mountain High is now making snow top-to-bottom and expects to open in the next several days. With a mixture of cold temperatures and continued snow showers, conditions look favorable for snowmaking and the Wrightwood resort plans to continue operations as long as possible.


Wrightwood, CA – October 28, 2011: Mountain High opened today at 10:00am making it the first resort to offer lift-serviced terrain in California for the 2011/12 season. The announcement came after just two nights of snowmaking and despite the limited notice, more than 100 guests turned out to participate.


The first in the series of four (4) is the Concert Hall Handrail

Wrightwood, CA – October 19, 2011: Mountain High is proud to announce four new “Los Angeles Features” which will be introduced to the terrain park for the 2011/12 winter season. The Concert Hall Handrail is the first of the four features to be completed. This massive down-flat-down staircase handrail combo is an exact replica of the iconic concert hall rail in Los Angeles and will be the centerpiece of Mountain High’s terrain park this coming season.


Free smart phone apps, greener snowmaking equipment and Hollywood icons in the terrain parks are also among new features Mountain High guests will enjoy this season.

Wrightwood, CA – September 16, 2011: Not resting on its reputation as the most popular winter resort in Southern California, Mountain High invested more than $1,000,000 this summer upgrading and its infrastructure in preparation for a half a million guests this winter season. New are free apps for iPhones and Androids, a fifty-foot Bagjump lading pad, increased snowmaking capacities with reduced water and power use, Los Angeles-based terrain park features, a new Bison X Park Cat, a Zaugg Pipe Monster, expanded night lighting, the Foggy Goggle Lounge, and a state-of-the-art rental system. Since 2000 Mountain High has invested more than $10 Million its ongoing commitment to being Southern California’s most sought out winter resort.


Southern California Favorite Becomes only North American Resort in Version 2 of MyTP Snowsports App

Wrightwood, CA – September 9, 2011: Fans of Southern California’s Mountain High Resort can now ski and snowboard its famous runs for free on their Apple iPhones, iPod touches, iPads, and Macs, as well as online from all internet-connected computers at Mountain High is the only North American resort, and one of only three resorts in the world, to be featured in version two of the popular MyTP snowsports games, MyTP Snowboarding 2 and MyTP Freeskiing 2. Mountain High now shares the MyTP game screen with Austria’s Flachauwinkl resort, an internationally renowned snowboarding and freeskiing destination in the Central Eastern Alps, and Laax resort, a snowboarding mecca in the Swiss Alps and site of Europe's largest halfpipe. Also featured are wide open runs of backcountry Alaskan powder.
