Welcome to the Mountain High Adaptive Program! Our mission is to help disabled skiers develop new skills and build self-confidence. We strive to create an atmosphere which produces positive physical, psychological, and therapeutic results.

We serve students with a variety of disabilities including the blind, deaf, amputees, post polio, spina bifida, birth defects, paralysis, cerebral palsy and cognitive disability.

At Mountain High, an Adaptive Lessons is taught by private format (one on one or two on one) under the supervision of the Mountain High Winter Sports School. The instructors are PSIA trained in adaptive ski techniques.

Restrictions
 

Our students must meet the following guidelines for participation in this program:
Students must be over the age of 5.
Students must be able to "hold head upright" through jerking motions.
Students must maintain breathing on their own.

Maximum weight restrictions:
185 lbs. to participate in a "sit down" program.
195 lbs. If totally independent when self loading device as a "sit down" participant.
200 lbs. to participate as a "stand up" skier.
 
Schedule
  Our Disabled Ski lesson is taught midweek in January and February (tentatively in March), and are by reservation only.  Weekend/Holiday lessons are also available but at the full private lesson, lift ticket, and rental rate.
 
Cost
 

An Adaptive Lesson includes private instruction, lift ticket, adaptive equipment and standard ski equipment rental. A Disabled Ski Lesson must be requested at least 72 hours in advance to ensure equipment and instructor availability. The lesson starts on time and includes fitting of equipment.
First Lesson : 9:30am-12:30pm $80 
Second Lesson : 1:00pm-3:00pm $35 
 
Reserve an Adaptive Lesson
  Phone (760) 316-7861, the Ski School office, and speak to the adaptive supervisor at least 72 hours in advance of the desired lesson. An interview with the skier, or care giver, will determine the appropriate equipment, ski mode and a ski date will be set. Pay for the lesson on a credit card to hold the reservation.
 
Cancellation Policy
  Full refund 48 hours prior to the start of the lesson. After that time, the lesson may be rebooked during the current season with a $10.00 service charge. If the lesson is not rebooked, and the cancellation has been after 48 hours, the full price will be charged to your credit card
