Hi Mt High Management. While it did not really effect me directly, today I was at the lower magic carpet. There were a number of people using it including a father teaching his 2 1/2 yr old son to ski and also a first time Adaptive snow board lesson among others. At 3:00 you shut down the carpet and also the snow flake lift. As I was passing the father at the bottom of the carpet he looked puzzled. As I had just left the top and heard the operator saying he was shutting down ( I did not here all of it but it sounded like if some one did not come at 3:00 he was to shut down) I told him they were shutting it down. He didn't get mad, just looked a bit sad. But then he said but I paid my money! I am not sure what they did about the Adaptive student.

I know you have shut stuff off early before but I was not around to see who it effected. I felt a little let down in Mt High for this practice. You may say Coyote was still open and it's a green run. Well, we all know that a lot of the people on Coyote are not even ready for it, hence all the bodies just sitting every where. The carpet operator told the father with the little boy Coyote was still open and the father did mention it was not an option as his boy still freaked out on the lift. But to me that's not the point. You toke there money, then closed early the only portion of the mountain that was really an option for them. My thoughts are "Shame on You!"

You may say it was only and hour. But you sell tickets for 8:30 to 4:00. They paid for 8:30 to 4:00. This is aimed at management but works for anyone. If you went to a restaurant and ordered a T-bone steak and when you got it the small tender lion side of your steak was missing. You call the waiter and he explains the they are trying to save money, but they did give you the T "bone" and the larger piece of the steak but you still have to pay full price. I know this would not make you happy! And I used steak because lets  face it, coming to Mt High is steak, not the value menu at Taco Bell.

Just "Food for Thought", pun intended. I have had a season pass for 2 years and already renewed for next year. And while I can ski and board any of your runs, this practice effects your new and future ( or not future anymore) customers. A staff member has a thread complaining about people wanting freebies because there pass holders. Hey freebies and perks are great when offered. But "EVERY ONE" the pays you for a ticket should get to enjoy 8:30 to 4:00. Not just the ones that can go to the high slopes. These are just my thoughts and thank you for listening.

Still a loyal fan, skiigirl

Thanks for the comments and I appreciate you taking the time.  I don't have an exact answer as to why the moving carpet closed at 3pm and I'll be sure to look into it.  Moving forward please note not every lift opens at 8:30am and not every lift closes at 4pm.  Lifts and trails are subject to change without notice and traditionally it is based on usage.  This is consistant at resorts across the country.
