A friend of mine went up a week or two ago to get his picture taken.  He was not able to get his pass on the spot which I was what I did a couple years back.  He was told something about a new upgraded system?

Just wanted to double check to see whats the deal.  Would I be able to head up, get my pass and ride the same day?

Yes, I believe the cards simply hadn't arrived yet.  But his has most likely been mailed to him.  And you can pick yours up on the spot now.
