Click here to watch THE VIDEO!! This year marked the 10th annual Triple Air and riders such as Rahm Klampert, Cory Cronk and Jack Mitrani took time off from the X-Games to compete for $20,000 in cash and four Kawasaki KLX mini-moto bikes. Considering how little natural snow Southern California has received, competitors were surprised to see how good the coverage was and how big the jumps were. Three big booters lined Lower Chisolm like gorillas in the mist and this year the last table neared 60 feet. At times riders were popping more than 25 feet over the deck giving them plenty of room to pull off sick tricks like double back flips and clean Japan 7s. This year Joe Eddy walked with $10,000 for his work, following in the footsteps of riders like Shaun White, Blaise Rosenthall, and Matt Hammer. Nick Sibayan took first in the Mens Amateur division with his super clean 7s over the last 60 footer. Bev Vuilleunier, down from Tahoe, showed the crowd what’s up with her big finish in the Women’s Pro division. And Bryn Valaika took charge in the Women’s Amateur division taking home a new board, new bag and a bunch of other goodies. The ceremonies took place on the new deck at the base of Mountain High’s West Resort where the Pyramid Ales were flowing and the beautiful Bacardi girls were pouring. Bands like Sweatshop Union and Optimus laid down good beats as the riders received their awards and the event concluded with an after party in the Bullwheel Bar & Grill. Said riders like Danny Williams, “It was fun. This was one the best Triple Airs ever.” For more information, photos or to schedule an interview, please contact John McColly, Director of Marketing, at (760) 316-7830 or john@mthigh.com. ###
